Link to the Old News Letters

Hello & Greetings
It’s been a few months already and allot has happened since the last quarterly update. Our site is flourishing. First of all I would like to welcome all the new members and friends who have recently signed up. I want to give my deepest thanks to everyone who has passed this site on to their families and friends. It’s because of you so many people are signing up and finding their friends online. I believe that your help in promoting this site through ‘word of mouth’ is the reason we are growing and have a future full of success. Please continue to spread the word.

There are a few updates I would like to include in this news letter. I have been receiving many requests and inquiries about the yearbook feature. This will be merged in with the before and after picture book. As I have had many inquiries about this I still have not received many photos. This will be a great place to share memories and see what they look like now. What we need to make this section happen is this…

1. Send pictures via E-Mail OR US Postal mail to us. webmaster@vbsalumni.org
2. These pictures will be reduced to about thumbnail size and posted on the page
The way this will look is this. Under the picture it will have the class of, school when the thumbnail is clicked the now picture will be displayed with a “Now Description.”
3. The biggest part to do this is we need pictures!!!

Another project that is underway is the VBSAlumni Council. The council is designed to get the most information from a representative that attended that school. This way our information and news are always current and accurate. It is also designed to get the information back out to everyone. I have noticed that every reunion has at least 25% missing and 10%-15% are not even notified of the event. The councils function will help with this issue. News is filtered to the site through a single point of contact and pushed back out the same way. This way the information doesn’t get dropped or distorted in either direction. I have a few volunteers to act in some positions but not enough to call the council official. Positions we need to fill are…
1. Council President
2. Council VP
3. Council Treasurer
4. A representative for each school ( A representative can appoint assistants as they see fit)

-The president sees that info is moving and in charge of the entire council decisions and other information
-The VP is the filter between the Representatives and the President
-The Reps are responsible for getting the information to the Website through the VP and back to the Alumni from the President and VP.

If you can volunteer a small portion of your time to this project it will be greatly appreciated. This is the most important part of this site s to get the information out there and back so “NO Friend” is left out.

As I mentioned before we need to keep spreading the site to all you know. http://www.vbsalumni.org . This is going to be a bigger and better year for the VBS Alumni. As an after thought this site maintains a very small budget and extraordinary amount of time and effort to maintain and improve. This happens on a daily basis. If you can find it in your heart to help with the development and improvements of this fine site please go to http://www.vbsalumni.org and click on the donate button on the bottom of any page. Any amount will make a tremendous difference. I will personally thank you very much for your help in making this site possible.

In closing I would like to wish everyone the best of wishes and happiness to all. Please be safe this Holiday Season and enjoy life to the fullest. I’m looking forward to a bigger and better 2003. Thank you very much for everything you have done for this site. You made it happen.

Sincerely

James Bunker
